I’m so excited to share some special daily blog posts leading up to the launch of my new book, White Flagging: The Surprising Power of Winning by Surrender. Each post comes straight from my heart — drawn from the very lessons that shaped this book. My goal is to stir something deep in you, to invite you into a journey of peace, surrender, and strength through letting go. The book launches August 5 on Amazon for just $0.99, and I’d love for you to join the Launch Team, grab your copy, and share this message with others. Let’s wave the white flag together — and finally find the freedom we’ve been craving.
The Illusion of Control: Why Letting Go is Freedom
We need to let go of control and embrace divine wisdom.
I used to believe that if I planned well enough, prayed hard enough, and pushed long enough, I could make life do what I wanted. I clung to the belief that control was strength. That being “in charge” of my world meant being responsible, wise, and safe. But what I didn’t realize was this: the more I tried to control, the more peace I lost.
Control is seductive. It feels responsible, strategic, even spiritual at times. We say things like, “I’m just being diligent” or “I’m holding it together,” but deep down, many of us are quietly breaking. We’re anxious, frustrated, and exhausted — not from life, but from trying to master it.
I was there. I had plans mapped out, goals listed, and prayers perfectly scripted. But nothing was moving. In fact, the more I pushed, the more stuck I became. It was as if God was waiting for me to see what He already knew — that freedom doesn’t come from control, it comes from release.
Letting go wasn’t easy. It felt like failure at first. I thought surrendering meant giving up. But in truth, letting go was the most powerful step I could take. It was the moment I stepped out of the chaos and into the current of divine wisdom.
When I finally released control, peace flooded in. Not because life got easier, but because I stopped fighting every wave. I allowed God to lead. I began to trust that His plans were better — even when I couldn’t see the full picture. And slowly, everything began to shift.
Letting go taught me that I was never meant to carry everything. That trusting God isn’t reckless — it’s redemptive. That real strength isn’t in holding tight, but in surrendering fully.
If you’ve been feeling like you’re drowning in the effort to keep things together, I want to invite you into the message of my upcoming book, White Flagging: The Surprising Power of Winning by Surrender.
This book was born from my struggle and healing. It’s my heart in print — a guide for those who are tired of carrying what only God can handle.
