There’s a kind of tired that runs deeper than your muscles. It lives in your soul.

You can sleep for eight hours, take a vacation, clear your calendar — and still feel it. That heaviness. That ache. That quiet voice inside whispering, “I can’t keep going like this.”

It’s not physical exhaustion. It’s spiritual fatigue. And if you’ve ever felt it, you know how crushing it can be.

I remember the season I hit that wall. I wasn’t just tired — I was done. On the outside, I was functioning. I was productive. I smiled. I showed up. But inside, I was running on fumes. I was emotionally threadbare and spiritually disconnected.

I prayed, but it felt like talking to a wall. I worked, but nothing felt satisfying. I gave, but I had nothing left to pour.

That’s when I started asking hard questions. What was I carrying that wasn’t mine? What was I forcing that God was asking me to release? Was my “strength” actually stubbornness?

It hit me like a revelation: I was tired because I was trying to live without surrender.

I had invited God into my life — but not into my control center. I prayed for peace, while still managing every outcome. I asked for rest, while still performing for validation. I begged for clarity, while still clinging to my timeline.

God doesn’t just want to be part of your plans. He wants to lead them. And the only way that happens is through surrender.

Surrender doesn’t mean giving up on dreams. It means releasing your grip on how they unfold. Surrender doesn’t mean quitting. It means yielding to God’s rhythm instead of pushing your own.

That shift — from striving to surrender — is what saved me. It didn’t change everything overnight. But it changed me. It gave me margin. It gave me breath. It gave me the grace to let go of what was breaking me.

And the peace that followed? It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t dramatic. It was steady. And for the first time in years, I felt like I could breathe again.

Friend, if you’re spiritually tired, emotionally drained, or just over it all… you’re not broken. You’re being invited to rest.

To rest in God. To rest in truth. To rest in surrender.
